Slow Cooker Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 90% lean
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 4 15 oz can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 14 1/2 oz can can diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 8 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 1 7 oz can can diced green chiles chopped

Seasoning

  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Toppings

  • cheddar cheese shredded
  • sour cream
  • green onions thinly sliced

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium heat until no longer pink and drain.
  • Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker and add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  • If desired, top individual servings with cheese, sour cream, and green onions.
